Due to weather earlier in the week, the Softball teams opened up NE8 Conference play on Wednesday. The varsity traveled to Bellmont to face the Braves who knocked them out of the sectional last year. The Knights struck for 3 in the top of the 2nd and the game was 4-3 before the varsity girls put up crooked numbers in the 6th & 7th to defeat Bellmont 9-3. In the JV game at Norwell, Bellmont scored a couple in the first before Norwell would plate 7 runners in the 2nd & 3rd and then another 7 in the 5th & 6th innings to win 14-4. Varsity will host Leo on Thursday and JV will be on the road - both games start at 5:30.
