The Girls Soccer teams traveled to DeKalb Monday for a single half of JV followed by the varsity match. JV Results: Norwell 1 DeKalb 1 Individual Highlights: Shae Brooks had the goal for Norwell in a JV game where only ½ was played. Abby Wagner and Emma Garner were in the goal for Norwell for the tie. Varsity Results: Norwell 2 DeKalb 1 in a shootout. Regulation score was 1-1 with both goals coming the second half. Over time sessions ended with the same score. Norwell won 2-1 in the shootout session Individual Highlights: Issie Isch scored Norwell’s late tying goal off an assist by Makenzie Fuess. In the shootout, Gracie Rinkenberger had two incredible saves and forced two additional misses while Grace Mann and Karrigan Melcher scored 2 of the 4 shots taken by Norwell for the 2-1 overall win. Gracie Rinkenberger continued her great season in the net for Norwell. It was a great team win for Norwell with solid play on both the offensive and defensive ends. Next Event: Norwell Lady Knights JV and Varsity will be hosting Heritage on Wednesday 9/20. JV game will begin at 5:30 followed by Varsity at 7pm.
