The Boys Basketball teams opened their 23-24 at home against the Carroll Chargers. The JV and Freshman teams got things started and split against Carroll. JV won 44-33 and were led by Brady Smith with 14, Nick McBride added 14 and Caiden Petrie had 6 and a pair of steals. The Freshman lost a close one 24-23. Trey Privett led the frosh with 10. Camden Fisher, Jake Rickardson and Wyatt Cliffton each had 3 and Cade Thornton and Adam Mahnensmith had 2 apiece. In the varsity contest, Carroll had a strong first half and took a 41-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. Norwell was able to cut the lead to six in the 2nd half, but the Chargers proved to be up to the challenge defeating the Knights 66-49. Ashton Federspiel led Norwell with 32 points and 5 boards. Cohen Bailey had 11 with 3 assists, Adam McBride scored 4 and Cade Shelton finished with2 points and 3 assists. The Knights will be at Mississinewa next Tuesday with JV and Freshman starting at 6:00.
