Girls Basketball Takes Three on Saturday

The Norwell Knights Girls Basketball program hosted Angola in V/JV action and Bellmont in Freshman action on Saturday. The JV and Freshman were able to pick up wins by large margins. For the Freshman, they improved to 4-1 on the season with a 54-7 victory over the Bellmont Braves. Joycelynn Hogsett-Turner led the team in scoring with 19 points. Isabella Swineford accounted for her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 17 rebounds. They will be at Carroll on Tuesday for a 6:00 start. JV: Norwell 60 - Angola 10 M. Saalfrank – 17pts A. Waldman – 11pts B. Meyer – 5pts L. Smith – 9pts A. Green – 5pts M. Young – 7pts H. Williamson – 6pts In the varsity game, the Knights led 39-23 at the half before outscoring Angola 19-6 in the 3rd and 22-2 in the 4th quarter for an 80-31 victory. They were paced by three double digit scorers with Fuess (19), Fuelling (15) and Rosswurm (13). Addie Norris had 9, Annabelle Johnson finished with 7 pts and 8 assists, Lilly Norris & Haley Green contributed 6 apiece, Ryland Graft had 3 and Hubble scored a bucket. The Varsity and JV will be at home on Friday to take on Huntington North in the NE8 opener for both teams.
