The Boys Basketball program opened up NE8 conference play on Friday night as the DeKalb Barons came to the Castle. The Knights were able to take the JV and Varsity contests, however the Freshman guys fell to DeKalb on their home court. Freshman: DeKalb 49 - Norwell 19 Trey Privett paced the Knights with 8 points. Cade Thornton chipped in 6, Camden Fisher had 3 and Jack Richardson added 2. Varsity: Norwell 57 - DeKalb 41 The Knights and Barons battled toe to toe in the first half with the Knights leading by 1, 24-23 at the break. That continued for most of the third quarter before Norwell started to pull away late in the quarter to lead by 7 at the end of the period before stretching out the lead in the 4th period in route to the 16 point win. Ashton Federspiel was the leading scorer with 28 points and 5 rebounds. Cohen Bailey scored 12 and complimented the offensive output with 6 assists. Adam McBride added 11 points, Kaedyn Quintanilla had 4 and Cade Shelton contributed 2 points in the win over the Barons.
