Boys Soccer suffered a pair losses on the road against Bishop Luers Thursday afternoon. Varsity Results: Norwell - 1 Bishop Luers - 2 JV Results: Luers 4 - Norwell 1 Individual Highlights: Noah Fromm (N) - 10 saves Jack Runion (BL) - 2 saves 1st Half Scoring: Alejandro Rodriguez (BL) 2nd Half Scoring: Joey Juarez (BL) Austin DeLeon (N) - 6:25 (assisted by Parker Capps) Recap: Bishop Luers dominated possession in the match and held off a late Norwell rally to earn the win by a score of 2-1. After many dangerous attempts at goal, Luers finally broke through on a corner kick as Alejandro Rodriguez headed the ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Luers struck again as Joey Juarez scored what proved to be the game-winner early in the 2nd half. Norwell tried to fight back as Austin DeLeon scored from the left side to cut the lead in half. Time unfortunately ran out on the Norwell comeback as they couldn't find the equalizer before time expired. In the JV match, Bishop Luers defeated Norwell 4-1 in a single-half. Jase Harmon scored the lone goal for Norwell. Next Event: Norwell (2-6-1, 1-2 in NE8) will host East Noble in a JV/V contest on Monday, September 12th at 5:30pm.
