The Varsity Softball team traveled to Yorktown today to take on the 21-2 Tigers in the 3A Regional. Yorktown got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the 3rd on a lead-off solo home run. The teams traded zeros until the top of the sixth when Jordan Markley led off the inning with a mammoth home run to left to tie the game. Kara Brown and Reese Frauhiger followed with singles. Kaydance Clark reached on an error to load the bases and then Sami Lemler reached on another error that allowed Brown and Frauhiger to both score. Lemler shut the door on the Tigers in the 6th and 7th and the Knights were the Regional Champs for the first time since 2003. They will face Western in the first game at 11:00 a.m. at Twin Lakes in the 3A North Semi-State on Saturday.
