The Knights and Lions opened up NE8 play on Wednesday and the Leo Lions swept the Knights at home. Results: Norwell JV 0 Leo JV 0 – ½ game Norwell Varsity 1 – Leo Varsity 7 Individual Highlights: JV: Good defensive work by both teams. Addison Parsons, Jillian Smith and Nara Brock led Norwell defensively. Keeping the goal for Norwell JV was Emma Garner and Shae Brooks. Varsity: Grace Mann scored Norwell’s goal off a penalty restart. Karrigan Melcher, Ridley sheets and Grace Mann played well for Norwell’s office. Defensively Emerson Meredith, Madison Mashuda played well along with freshman Adrienne Wagner who continues to improve every game. Freshman Maggie Neuenschwander was in the goal for Norwell and performed very well. Maggie has stepped in for injured keeper Abby Wagner and Emma Garner. Next Event: Norwell Lady Knights JV and Varsity will host Columbia City for an NE8 match on Saturday August 31st. JV will play first with a ½ game beginning at 10am. Varsity will follow at approximately 10:45am.
