Knights Fall in Sectional Championship

The Norwell Knights varsity football season came to an unfortunate end on Friday night as the Yorktown Tigers outlasted the Knights 42-41 to advance to the regional game. Norwell jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter on two touchdowns by Jon Colbert and a 33 yard rushing touchdown by Trey Bodenheimer. Yorktown responded with three touchdowns in the second quarter to tie the game before the Knights scored on a 36 yard run by Luke Graft and PAT by Austin DeLeon to make it 28-21 with :51 seconds left in the second. Yorktown scored first in the second half to tie it at 28. The Knights went back in the lead at the 11:55 mark in the 4th quarter on a 1 yard touchdown completion from Lleyton Bailey to Kline Neuenschwander. DeLeon's PAT was good and Norwell was up 35-28. Yorktown scored two more touchdowns to take the lead before Norwell drove down and scored on a 1 yard Lleyton Bailey run with :24 seconds remaining. The Knights went for the two point conversion and they were unable to get the ball in the end zone. Great Season Knights!
