The Competition Cheer team traveled to Mt. Vernon High School on Saturday for their third cheer competition of the year. They compete in the Small Timeout division and use these competitions as steppingstones to state qualifiers and the state competition at New Castle High School in November. This division is determined by school size according to IASP guidelines. Out of the six teams competing in this particular division Saturday, they won their very first 1st place finish. The team has improved their scores and routine each week. They have beat very good opponents this year in their competitions- Delta High School and Northeastern High School- and have enjoyed competing against fellow Wells County school rival new to the IASP competition circuit this year, Bluffton High School. The teams look forward to bettering their routine even more in the next few weeks as they compete and travel to Northeastern High School October 13th and Bishop Dwenger October 19th.
