The boys basketball team opened Sectional play at Peru against Northwestern and had to survive an OT thriller to advance to the Semi-Finals on Friday against Maconaquah. Norwell struggled out of the gate and trailed the Tigers 12-3 after the first quarter before putting together a strong second quarter to trail by 1 at the half. In the third quarter, Norwell outscored Northwestern 10-6 to lead by 3 going into the fourth. With the score tied late in the 4th, Norwell was able to get a stop before getting a desperation shot at the buzzer and the game went to OT. Norwell outlasted the Tigers in the OT period to prevail 49-45 and advance to Friday.
